Product Description

This steering effort transducer was designed to evaluate steering torque requirements, new and existing steering systems and components used in automobile, trucks, buses, and material handling equipment. Quantitative evaluations of steering systems, steering geometries, tire interactions, and safety factors are made using this device. This is fastened to the existing steering wheel by means of a fixed or optional adjustable 3 point clamp assembly. For direct steering shaft attachment, a custom adapter plate is available.

Monad’s steering effort torque sensor is integrated into steering steting purpose and provides the customer with two feedbacks simultaneously:

  • Steering torque: The sensor records the torsion bar angle required for the steering movement
  • Steering effort: The sensor measures the force of change in the position of the steering wheel

Both sensor functions are integrated within one sensor.

Monad new generation Steering Torque and effort incorporates numerous technological innovations, such as:

Full on-board conditioning electronics, with built-in reset, torque calibration function and a facility to send a start trigger signal to the remote data acquisition system.
